Commercial Property
Built in 1937, this building is a piece of history in downtown Ephrata, Pennsylvania. Requiring 6,000 tons of earth to be relocated for its construction, the Art Deco style structure quickly became known for its big-city glamour in small town America. The simple curved lines, combined with sleek aluminum details and abundant brick and glass facade, made it an important part of the pre-war Art Deco, architectural movement. Following the innovative trends of the day from New York and Philadelphia, the building is now a historical landmark, replete with the many of the original features that led this to become a flagship building in the town.
